Mary J. Fry is the author of several books that uniquely blend American southwest and Italian flavors. Her first book of poetry, Adobe Doorways won the prestigious Pegasus award for best book of poetry, Oklahoma Federation of writers, 1994. The book that follows Adobe Doorways, Denim & da Vinci, is a coming of age story about a young woman navigating the hilarous but sometimes trecherous vias of Italy.

She has also authored several screenplays, Denim & da Vinci, based on the novel of the same name and Cold War, set in the early 1980's, about a young American soldier who tries to help a beautiful East German girl escape to freedom and discovers the nefarious plans of a rogue Russian commander.

Mary lives and writes in Southern California and travels frequently to Italy.
